PS ModCom achieves its preservation goals through advocacy, community engagement, and educational programs. Funds raised help us retain a seasoned preservation attorney who forcefully advocates on our behalf.
Preservation of midcentury modern buildings in and around Palm Springs is central to everything we do.
PS ModCom engages a dedicated membership to achieve our goals through political advocacy, community engagement and educational programs. Funds raised through membership and other fundraising initiatives help PS ModCom retain a CEQA (California Environmental Quality Act)-trained attorney on a year-round basis to examine issues, communicate our position and negotiate with civic governments or developers when required.
of Historic Places
In 2016, twelve of the most important buildings designed by master architect E. Stewart Williams were listed in the National Register of Historic Places. They join 11 buildings on the National Register that were designed by Albert Frey and listed in 2015. Our next goal for National Register listing is to focus on the architecturally important buildings by Donald Wexler.
