Board Member

Jade Thomas Nelson is a life-long resident and native of Palm Springs, California. Owner and founder of Palm Springs’ premier walking tour company, P.S. Walk With Me, Jade was co-manager from 2003-2013 of Orbit In and The Hideaway, two mid-century modern hotels designed by Herbert W. Burns. Jade is former Vice-Chair of the P.S. Historic Site Preservation Board and has also volunteered for Modernism Week since its inception. With the guidance of modernist architect Sean Lockyer, Jade and his partner restored a custom-built 1951 ‘atomic ranch’ home in the Movie Colony East neighborhood.

Jade’s ongoing love of architecture, history, preservation, food and culture was sparked by countless childhood visits to museums, landmarks, restaurants and roadside attractions. He caught the tour ‘bug’ when he served as a campus tour guide at The Culinary Institute of America in New York where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management with a commendation for outstanding service. Jade is a member of the Los Angeles Conservancy and the Historical Society of Southern California and is happy to be on the Advocacy Committee as a Board Member for PSMODCOM.
