Barbara Cain became a board member in 2009. Living in Palm Desert, and owning in the William Krisel-designed Sandpiper, a significant mid-century modern community there, she brings an East-valley perspective to the board. When not in Palm Desert, she and her husband live in a Denver loft and hike the mountains of Colorado. An advocate of small city, downtown revitalization in Colorado, she served on the Fort Collins historic preservation board at its inception, when preservation efforts required an initial push.

For several years, she chaired the most sought-after-ticket gala, proceeds funding art purchases and capital projects at the local performing arts center. For the last twenty years in California, she has worked in administration and project management, in the development, design and construction field. She continues as VP Cain Companies, a forensic construction consulting firm. She and her husband are passionate travelers and plan to continue traveling the world.
